Thief of Lies Character Tour – Nick
Welcome to the character tour for THIEF OF LIES (Library Jumpers Book 1). Today, we’re getting to know Nick.
Gia’s Best Boy Friend
Description: Sarcastic, careless, and protective of his friends.
Thief of Lies (Library Jumpers Series Book 1) quote: “Ever since Freaky Friday, it just keeps getting weirder, doesn’t it?”
Nick and Gia have been friends since they were babies. Their mothers were close friends. He was born in Boston and he attends the same private school as Gia. His parents own an Italian restaurant in the North End. He works there and he’d like to run his own restaurant someday. He makes a mean tiramisu—Gia’s favorite dessert. Unfortunately, that didn’t make it into the first book.
Nick is into style and doesn’t do crumpled. He’s a slacker at school and doesn’t take his Italian lessons as seriously as Gia does, which bothers her. When it comes to his friends and those he loves, he will step up to any challenge. Nick has a crush on Afton, but he tries to act as though he doesn’t.
In book two, Nick will go through a lot of emotional struggles and growth. He has tons to deal with after book one. He’ll have to learn how to handle all the stuff that has been loaded on him. Friendships and relationships will be tested in Guardian of Secrets.
Guardian of Secrets (Library Jumpers Series Book 2) teaser with Nick, Gia, Pop, and the librarian:
She guided us to a room off the rotunda with book stacks and a staircase leading to a balcony. “This is the reference room where I put the gateway book.” She pulled a familiar looking leather bound book from a bookcase behind the stairs. “I’ll keep track of it, so it will be here whenever you need it.” She slipped the book back into place. “There’s a quiet study area up in the mezzanine. Follow me.”
She shook her booty up the staircase with Pop right behind her. I wanted to throw up witnessing Pop check her out. I looked back at Nick and he was watching the booty show too.
“Really?” I hissed at him, holding onto the wooden railing as I climbed.
“Hey, what can I say,” he said, chuckling. “I’m a proponent of well-formed structures.”
“Is that right?” Kayla said from above us. “I’m always impressed when our youth appreciates historical landmarks and architecture.”
“Oh, I appreciate it,” he said.
THIEF OF LIES Character Tour – Assets
ABOUT THIEF OF LIES (LIBRARY JUMPERS #1):
Gia Kearns would rather fight with boys than kiss them. That is, until Arik, a leather-clad hottie in the Boston Athenaeum suddenly disappears. While examining the book of world libraries he abandoned, Gia unwittingly speaks the key that sucks her and her friends into a photograph and transports them into a Paris library, where Arik and his Sentinels—magical knights charged with protecting humans from the creatures traveling across the gateway books—rescue them from a demonic hound.
Jumping into some of the world’s most beautiful libraries would be a dream come true for Gia, if she weren’t busy resisting her heart or dodging an exiled wizard seeking revenge on both the Mystik and human worlds. Add a French flirt obsessed with Arik and a fling with a young wizard, and Gia must choose between her heart and her head, between Arik’s world and her own, before both are destroyed.
ABOUT BRENDA DRAKE:
Brenda Drake grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up are of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling.
So it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical. When she’s not writing or hanging out with her family, she haunts libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops, or reads someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).
