Book Talk…10/14/16

Traci Kenworth

The Last Enchantment Mary Stewart. 1979 William Morrow & Co.

It began with The Crystal Cave, this is the third of the Merlin books, with one more to come. Merlin feels his powers waning and turns to a new student to gift him with them. However, as Arthur soon warns him, Ninian is more than meets the eye. After being buried alive, he struggles to escape and return to Arthur’s court. In this, Arthur is in the prime of his life and Merlin is slowly fading. The contrast between them is the reverse of what it was like in The Hollow Hills. I loved reading about the Arthur legend and this series makes me wish I’d kept the first book. I will remedy that as soon as possible.  5 stars!!
