A lovely sight to see but I agree with Stevie, I’d rather have electricity!
We had a note from the electricity board to inform us that they were turning off the power for 6 hours last Thursday to renew some of the poles supporting the overhead wires. Sam and I made sure to be out of the house for most of it; me at work and Sam (who works from home) decided to visit a customer in Newmarket.
At least the snow wasn’t on the ground when the 21st November dawned. It was chilly, but then again we are in the midst of winter. Off we went at 7am. Sam was the first one home and when I returned from work later that afternoon there was still no power, but he had built up a lovely roaring fire in the grate.
