Writerly Things 3/9/2020: The Approaching Days

Traci Kenworth

What are you looking forward to doing most this Spring? Me, everything. Last year, I was cooped inside with two surgeries and this year, I just can’t wait to get out there doing what I need to do.

At the top of my list is planting flowers. All types. All colors. All shapes and sizes. I have some snow crocuses that come up every Spring. Which they have. I’ll try and take a pic. The daffodils are next to arrive with their sunshiny warmth. I hope my tulips come up this year but they’ve skipped a couple now so I may have to replant those. They came up every year before that for the fifteen years we’ve been here now. I want some roses.

Getting My Backyard in Shape.

It went to the woods with the storms we had the past few years that damaged our home and yard. I’m looking forward to burning the branches and other wood. I hope to find someone to haul away my downed tree wood as well. I offered it as free firewood last year, had some takers, but they ultimately didn’t show. I need to trim some trees. I have two Rose of Shaniera (I think I spelled that right) in front of my porch that need to be downsized some. I want to keep them smaller so they don’t get out of hand. I have other trees that are broken, stubbly messes.

Cleaning My Porch Off.

I want to get it looking nicer and things back to being organized. I’ve got some things to get rid of on there. I’ve got a lot of outside projects. Not sure I’ll get to them all this year or not, but I intend to make progress for sure! How about yourself? What projects do you hope to get to this year?

Need some Spring cleaning done? How about a bunch of <a href=”http://<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=tf_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=mywebsite071a-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B079VP6DH5&asins=B079VP6DH5&linkId=c8d03432d01db62c4a7c2dbfac9ec9a2&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true&price_color=333333&title_color=0066c0&bg_color=ffffff”> paper towels? Combine <a href=”http://<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=tf_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=mywebsite071a-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B00HNSJSX2&asins=B00HNSJSX2&linkId=2c9ff1550cff999eaeaba6f6262fdf75&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true&price_color=333333&title_color=0066c0&bg_color=ffffff”> baking soda and <a href=”http://<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=qf_sp_asin_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=mywebsite071a-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B07DDZH1Y3&asins=B07DDZH1Y3&linkId=8dc88809da13d59bcafdd1e1f08c7442&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true&price_color=333333&title_color=0066c0&bg_color=ffffff”> vinegar for a cleaning tool. How about some lemons? Make lemonade or use as a cleaning tool or heck, just add to your water for a refreshing citrus taste. Need some hand soap?
